Holy Spirit Music Ministry

"Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts, giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father".  Ephesians 5:18-20

The Holy Spirit Choir is a dedicated group of individuals who come together each week to enrich the spiritual experience of our faith community through the power of music. Rooted in the rich tradition of Catholic liturgy, our choir serves a vital role in supporting the Mass while fostering a deep sense of community and prayerful reverence among our faithful parishioners and guests.

Responsibilities:

1. Attending Rehearsals: Regularly attend choir rehearsals to practice and learn the music for each liturgical celebration. Practices are every Wednesday at 4:00 pm in the church.
2. Punctuality and Reliability: Arriving on time for rehearsals and Mass to ensure the choir's efficiency.
3. Supporting the Mass: Supporting the worship experience of the congregation, encouraging all parishioners and guests to sing along while helping to create an atmosphere conducive to prayer, reflection, joy, and thanksgiving.
4. Maintaining Decorum: Maintain a respectful and reverent demeanor during Mass and liturgical celebrations. Wear attire appropriate for liturgical celebrations.

Qualifications:

--- Choir members are expected to be practicing Catholics who are committed to their faith and the mission of the Catholic Church and its teachings.

--- A passion for music and a willingness to share one's talents for the glory of God.

--- A willingness to sing to the Lord and a strong desire to serve others. All skill levels are welcome. Vocal mastery is not required.

--- Availability and commitment to attend rehearsals and participate in Mass regularly. Our English Masses are on Saturdays at 4:00 pm and Sundays at 8:00 am & 11:00 am during our winter schedule. Our summer schedule of Masses is the same on Saturdays with Sunday Mass at 9:30 am.

--- Respect and love for each other and fellow choir members, fostering a sense of unity and cooperation.
