Liturgical Art & Environment

Liturgical Art & Environment

Art and Environment is the ministry dedicated to the preparation of the Church for the celebration of the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist; the Solemnities (solemn events recalling the mysteries of redemption); and the seasons of the Liturgical Year:

  • Advent/Christmas/Epiphany
  • Ordinary Time
  • Lent/Holy Week/Triduum
  • Easter
  • Ascension
  • Pentecost

The purpose of this ministry is to enhance the sacred space appropriately for all liturgical gatherings. We follow the theological and liturgical principles with respect for our parochial traditions. “Helping Hands” endeavor to serve God as we work together preparing the house of the Lord, building fellowship and a deeper spiritual appreciation of ourselves and our parish family.

We change altar cloths, purchase and make flower arrangements, take care of plants and flowers, make and hang decorations, and decorate the church for all the seasons and celebrations.

Amelia Updike, the overseer of Art and Environment, always welcomes new helpers to volunteer for all occasions.
